Walked 6.03 Miles
Today was a special walk because my mom-in-law (the one who roped me into walking a half marathon) came to Portland to walk with me. My husband and his bum ankle were also a long on this trip. We decided to walk from our house, around the waterfront and back home which is almost exactly 6 miles. I'm so blessed to be able to walk to downtown.
I always enjoy walking around the waterfront. Today was a beautiful sunny day. We were all so thrilled. It had been a long week of exercising in the rain. You can definitely see why we are sometimes refered to as Bridge Town. This is the Hawthorne.
Next is the Burnside bridge. The west side of the bridge was celebrating the first weekend of Saturday market. This institution opens and Portland rejoices because we know that Spring is on its way. It had a great turn out from what I could see walking past.
The Steel Bridge is the one we will cross over.
Walking over the water on the Steel bridge next to train tracks with Max going by often overhead, is a great experience especially when a train is crossing. You instantly feel very small. The Broadway bridge is the next bridge.

I love this sticker. One of the best things about Portland is how bike friendly we are. I get so nervous and worried when I see cyclists on extremely busy roads (or any road, really) without a helmet. Please wear your helment if you're going to ride.

I had so much fun walking with you and Greg yesterday. I get so lonesome out there walking by myself on the roads around our farm. And this time of year, there's not much out here to see except fields of dirt. It was great to walk a different route for a change. I'm stoked for our next walk together at the end of the month. And for next weekend's Shamrock 5K.
